The best months for mountain biking in the Pikey Peak region are March to May (spring) and September to November (autumn).

In spring, daytime temperatures range from 10°C to 20°C (50°F to 68°F), with cool nights around 0°C (32°F). The trails are dry, and the blooming rhododendrons add to the stunning scenery, providing excellent visibility for biking.

Sir Edmund Hillary once called Pikey Peak the best vantage point for viewing Mt. Everest.

During his expedition, he used it to find the best route for his ascent. Today, Pikey Peak still offers stunning panoramic views from Everest to Dhaulagiri and Kanchenjunga, surrounded by lush forests and rolling meadows—perfect for a mountain biking adventure.

You’ll explore Jumbesi, the first Sherpa settlement, and during spring, the Rhododendron forests burst with color and fragrance. We’ll also visit the Chiwong and Thupten Choling monasteries to experience Buddhist philosophy and meditation. To top it off, enjoy a sunrise climb with breathtaking views of Everest and the Himalayan peaks.
